Become a host for our Summer Hosting Experience
What is the programme?
During the first 3 weeks of July we welcome a group of Spanish students to the North Coast. They stay with local families and enjoy a wonderful cultural and language experience. They attend English classes every morning and activities in the afternoon and are away every day with us from 9 am to 5:00pm. They spend the evenings and Sundays with their host families.
Autumn Hosting Experience
In September 2024, the North Coast will welcome a number of Spanish students for our 8 week and full trimester programmes. They will stay with hosts and will attend one of the following schools: Dalriada School, Ballymoney, Coleraine Grammar School and Ballymena Academy. If you are interested in hosting one of these Spanish school students please contact us!
- Students arrive on the 1st of September and will stay until the 26th Oct 2024 on our 8 week programme or until the 16th of December on our trimester programme.
- They will stay with host families and will travel to school walking or by the school bus.
- Host families receive £240/week (in total, £1920 for 8 weeks and £3840 for the trimester programme).
- Host families provide bed and board.
Every Saturday the student will attend excursions organized by Bannside languages. - Host families have the full support from a bilingual student liaison officer who will be in the North coast.
- The student liaison officer will also be responsible for the student welfare and pastoral care e.g medical appointments.

Who are the students?
The students are 11-16 years old and come from various parts of Spain.Payment
Host families will receive £200 per week to host one student and £360 to host two students.Host family Requirements:
- A spare bed (in a shared room of a child of the same gender) or a spare room.
- Provision of breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.
- Availability to drop off the student at 9am and pick up at 5:00pm in Coleraine. (There will be an opportunity to share lifts with other host families).
- Agreement for Bannside Languages to carry out an Access NI Check.
